Abstract

Treatment of ethyl α-amino-β-(3-alkenylbenzofuran-2-yl)acrylate (1-aminohexatrienyl system) with PdCl₂(PhCN)₂ in the presence of Na₂CO₃ caused a selective cyclization of the amino group to the terminal carbon of the alkenyl group forming azepines.
