Abstract

2,5-Bis(trimethylsilyl)thiophene monooxide (1) underwent a 1,4-addition reaction with Br₂ to give stereospecifically 2,5-bis(trimethylsilyl)-2,5-cis-dibromothiolene monooxide (2) in quantitative yield.
