Abstract

9-(c-5-Hydroxy-c-4-hydroxymethylcyclopent-2-en-r-1-yl)-9H-adenine [(±)-Epinor-BCA] has been synthesized from the bicyclic hydroxy lactone (2) in eleven steps.
